Sweet Sugar Scrub ( Just not sweet enough to eat 🙂 !)
Sugar is great for your skin! sugar is a great way to tighten and smooth skin! Sugar scrubs in stores are expensive! Sugar scrubs in the kitchen are not!
How to do it: Mix equal parts of brown sugar and olive or coconut oil , a Teaspoon of Honey and a Tablespoon of ground oatmeal and add essential oils of choice (optional). To exfoliate skin, rub the mixture onto skin and massage in for a couple of minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Do not make a whole jar of this just make enough for you to use when you want the scrub otherwise I suggest storing this in the refrigerator!
Raw Vegan Granola
1 cup soaked and dehydrated buckwheat or rolled oats
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/3 cup cranberries or raisins or dried fruit of your choice
1/3 cup of dried coconut flakes
1 Tbsp coconut oil
2 tablespoons of water
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of Celtic sea salt
Blend the water, oil, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
Mix the oats, seeds, and cranberries ,raisins or other dried fruit
Mix them all together
Line a dehydrator sheet with Teflex or a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread with granola.
Dehydrate at 115 degrees for about 6-8 hours, or until totally dry and crispy. If you don’t have a dehydrator, you can bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, or until browning but not burning.
Serve over fresh berries with almond milk, or over sliced banana, or over a smoothie, or as a snack, or…however you want!
Vegan Potato and Spinach balls- Baked
3 big Potatoes (any kind you like)
2 or 3 cups of Spinach fresh (or any other leafy green)
3 cloves of Garlic
1 tbsp Basil
2 tbsp Chives
2 tbsp Parsley
1/2 tsp Cumin
2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast (optional)
Preheat Oven to 450
Chop the potatoes in big chunks and boil until done but very firm (about 6 minutes). Add some salt to the water if you want. You can use frozen spinach, no problem with that. Just make sure to get all the water out before cooking.
Chop the Spinach like shown in the first picture, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Cook it in a pan with the chopped garlic for 3 or 4 minutes until it’s soft. ( i put a little coconut oil or Coconut Spread in the pan so it doesnt stick)
Chop the herbs, like shown in the pic. You don’t have to use fresh, I just happen to have a mini garden of herbs. You can definitely use dried.
Mix everything in a bowl, (including the nutritional yeast if you have it on hand, if not don’t worry) and let it rest until it’s cool enough for you to touch it without burning your hands. It should look like pictures 3 and 4 below.
Then proceed to make small balls (like meatballs).
Bake for 15 minutes at 450 degrees.
Make sure you put some cooking spray in your baking dish so they don’t stick. These balls are nutritious and tasty! They are firm and crispy outside, but creamy inside.
You can substitute the Spinach, for Kale or any other leafy green you have in hand. Also, you can use sweet potato instead of regular white potato. But when using sweet potato, you have to add one tablespoon of oil and 2 tbsp of flour or the consistency will be mushy when baked.
